Pigeon Shooting Page
Our last shoot was held on Tuesday
28 Dec 04 with all proceeds going towards Temple Street
childrens hospital, Larch community in Callan and the
Senior Citizens group in Mullinahone.
Over €2000 was raised on the day including donations.
Our thanks to the members who helped on the day, especially
the youngsters. We also had a visit
from celebrity chef Jamie Oliver(Michael Reilly) who served up venison burgers
by the dozens. The children present were wolfing them down, until someone informed
them they were eating Rudolphs siblings…
Work on the grounds commenced at 8.30am and shooting commenced at 11am. Last
tickets were at 3pm to allow for shoot off and clean up. Traps were deemed
difficult but shootable, whatever that means. Over 140 cards were sold on the
day to the guns who travelled from afar as Wexford, Cork and Waterford. The
usual locals from South Tipp also supported the event in their usual numbers.
It is very satisfying to see familiar faces at this event every year. Congratulations
to prizewinners on the day.
For security reasons this site will not identify
gun owners by name.
Club
History
The
club has always had its clay pigeon enthusiasts. To
cater for these members the club held three or four club shoots annually. These
were well attended, especially during the 70s and 80s. During the 90s however
(celtic tiger years) these shoots declined but were not let die completely. more...
